You will find The Crown of Thorns has been housed at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and this is a circle of canes that are braided and held together by gold threads and the thorns were then attached to the braided circle, that measures 21cm in diameter.

• Sus torres ofrecen unas vistas increíbles de París. Construida entre 1163 y 1245 en la Île de la Cité, la Catedral de Notre Dame de París es una de las catedrales góticas más antiguas del mundo. El nombre de la catedral significa Nuestra Señora y está dedicada a la Virgen María.

• En sus ocho siglos de historia, la Catedral de Notre Dame ha sido reformada en varias ocasiones, siendo la más importante la de mediados del siglo XIX. A lo largo de estos años se sustituyeron los arbotantes, se insertó el rosetón sur, se reformaron las capillas y se añadieron estatuas.

• Sobre el techo de la catedral de Notre Dame destaca la aguja. Esta aguja fue añadida en el siglo XIX por Viollet-le-Duc, en sustitución de una antigua aguja tipo campanario, que había sido colocada hacia el año 1250 pero fue desmantelada a finales del siglo XVIII. • Situada en el subsuelo de la plaza de Notre Dame, la cripta contiene las ruinas descubiertas durante las excavaciones de 1965. Fue abierta en 1980 y su entrada se encuentra en el número 1 de la plaza. Creemos que la visita de la cripta no merece la pena.

Testigo mudo de todo tipo de acontecimientos históricos, como el nombramiento de Napoleón como emperador, coronaciones de reyes y reinas o la beatificación de Juana de Arco, Notre Dame ha sobrevivido al paso de tiempo, incluyendo los bombardeos alemanes durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y hoy en día es uno de los monumentos más visitados de París.

Tras ser empleada como almacén, en 1802, se devolvió su uso a la Iglesia católica gracias a Napoleón Bonaparte, quien se coronaría emperador en Notre Dame dos años después.
